I woke up this morning and there wasn't a drop of snow on the ground at my house. They weren't even calling for snow at all! I work about 35 minutes away, and the closer I get to work, the more snow and ice I start to see. The drive to work is an old country road and there is absolutely NOWHERE to turn around. If I pull over, it is likely another car will slide and hit me. As I keep driving, I pass 4 wrecks and I'm freaking out because there is nowhere to pull into and I'm stuck on the road. I end up sliding across both lanes of the road with no control and end up in the grass. It's so slick that I am stuck in it. Luckily, another teacher a few cars behind me drives a truck so she took me the rest of the way to work. Another teacher went sideways into a ditch and totaled her car. They ended up closing the road for a couple hours to salt it and clean up all the accidents.
Lovely day.
